American Red Cross
Oregon Mountain River Chapter
Our Mission
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Around the clock and around the globe, during times of personal crisis, we keep the American people in touch with their family members serving in the United States Military.

The Red Cross movement began on the battlefield. Today, that same spirit is present wherever United States military troops are located. American Red Cross paid and volunteer staff are here to meet the special needs of military personnel stationed around the world. The American Red Cross provides reporting and communication services through a network which links members of the military any place in the world with their loved ones.

How do we do it?

With a 24-hour emergency support network located in 804 chapters across the nation, 112 military installations around the world and in two AFES Centers in the US.

With 174 employees and 34,913 volunteers on military installations world-wide.

With a world-wide emergency communications network, which provided service to a total of 489,000 military families last year.

With a call or message relayed every 22 seconds between AFES Centers, stations, and American Red Cross chapters.

If you or a member of your family is currently serving active duty or in our nation's community-based military, please call the Chapter at 1-888-895-1099 to learn exactly how AFES works, and what information you'll need to have before you call.
